5-Day Ancient Routes of Tana Toraja
     
Day 1: Makassar-Tana Toraja
Arrive at Hasanuddin Airport of Makassar, where you’ll be met and transferred directly to Tana Toraja. En route you’ll make a stop at Pare-Pare for lunch and Puncak Lakawang for coffee break. You’ll arrive in Tana Toraja late afternoon and balance of the day is free at leisure. (L/D)

Day 2: Tana Toraja
Today you’ll enjoy a day-long excursion of Tana Toraja visiting: Lemo – a famous stone grave with beautiful houses nearby, Suaya – an old Royal grave of the Seven Kings, Sangala – the Royal home of the latest rulers, with a tree grave for the dead babies, Ke’te Kesu – traditional handicraft village, Londa – an ancient natural grave where corpses are placed with great ceremony to wait reincarnation, Siguntu – a typical Toraja village on top of the hill and our last visit is to Karassik. Day 3: Tana Toraja
You’ll continue the drives today visiting: Bori – a village with collection of chiselled stones called Simbuang, showing the status of the clan, Palawa – an ancient village known throughout the travel world, Sa’dan – a quite and peaceful village famous for its hand weaving, located on the river of Sa’dan, Marante – a typical Toraja village with old hanging graves and Nanggala – a village of the Royal family of Nanggala with lush green scenery and huge traditional hunting camp. Day 4: Tana Toraja-Makassar
Today you’ll enjoy a leisurely drive back to Makassar via Palopo. En route you’ll visit the traditional Silk home industry, where women spin Buginese Silk. (B/L/D)

Day 5: Depart Makassar
You bid farewell today to Makassar, as you are escorted back to the Hasanuddin Airport to connect with your flight to next destination. (B)
